I Let Go

by

Yvonne Bullins Luffman

When you left the locks were changed
My whole life was rearranged
Not the same person you used to know
When you walked out I let go.

When you walked out I let go
Started all over with a brand new life
All free and clear no ties to bind
Going to make it I'll be fine.

You used to call me darling
And I would call you dear
Now its come to the point
That we don't even care.

The love that we had
Somehow faded away
Those precious words
Became harder to say.

So I let go of the past
Let go of those feelings
That I thought would last
Time to start all over

Put my life in gear
I'm no longer your darling
And you're no longer
My dear.
