Your Eyes

by

Yvette S. Davis

souls flying
timeless, endless ecstasy
no escape, this feeling
heavy, crushing me
in your arms
in the night
your eyes deep, pulling me in
like the ocean tide
I stand at the edge of your waters
you sweep me off my feet
I'm flying
timeless, endless ecstasy
reality stands still
the fantasy is real
morning ceases the night
I return from the blissful flight
landing at your water's edge
the tide rolls away
no escape, this feeling
empty, wanting you again
night returns
in your arms again
I'm lost in your eyes,
swept away by the tide
our bodies like water,
flowing freely, deliberately
together, drifting apart
timeless, endless ecstasy
can't hold on
can't let go
can't break the cycle
the moon comes around full circle
you're there again
I'm alone
I close my eyes
I see yours
dark and deep
the emptiness, fulfilling
memories in the back of my mind
drifting in and out
like the ocean tide
