Que In Waiting

by

Walter L. Jones

Blood keeps the angels and the devils in toe for the cruelty of man no human may ever know

I am the cool wind
falling from the hills
down to the valley
of angels and devils thrills

Willing deception
eyes fail to see
all the crevices
waiting by the hanging tree

Dance you moonlight raider
taker of the sheets
let young ones see de-feet

Keep the bonfire burning
souls they travel home
leave all the women tired and alone

Blood upon the water turned to wine and the voice of forever pushes forth the crime

Whispers in the vespers
angels lost today
saw them hanging
high above the hay

Skill in virtue needed
not much pay
promise of heaven
when you pass a way

Silence on the mountain
loves upon the hill
truth the last word spoken
virtues killed

Delivered by message
spoken in tongues
leaves dark and lonely
bodies hanging in the sun

Blood flows like the river Nile in time leaves the mark of first born Lambs blood not wine

Dance you moonlight raider
taker of the sheets
let young ones see da-feet

Keep the bonfire burning
souls they travel home
leave all the women
tired and alone

Whispers in the vespers
angels lost today
saw them hanging
high above the hay

Skill in virtue needed
not much pay
promise of heaven
when you pass a way
