We are Strange Kind of People

by

Uzma Sadaf

I had given you my diary to write something on it
To remember some moments
But you have written ill prayers on every page
You have disfigured the pear like words
You have started a new tradition to write on diary
How strange you are!
But I am more strange than you
I knew that these words were poison
These were the thrust of the throat
I knew that they would kill me with one draught
But I took this poison drop by drop
Surely we are strange kind of people
We get murdered, then beget life again
And then we give some new writings
To the note-book of time
Surely we are strange kind of people.
