They Have Marched to the Cities

by

Uzma Sadaf

All the dragons of the jungle have come to know
That laws have been passed in their favour
All the dragons, all the snakes of the jungle
Have shifted to the cities
Now all the chairs are in the name of these dragons
And the positions are being given to them
On the quantities of their prey
Have you seen, all the human beings are so terrified
That they have retired to their hidden corners
They have reduced themselves to the size of the ants
Now no young maid goes to the well to bring water
Now no child demands a bag of books
And now no old man tells stories
All of them are terrified
All are terrified in the slavery of the dragons.
