The End

by

Uzma Sadaf

There was a time
You were in the dead earth
I picked you up
Then after the hard work of centuries
I made you worthy of something
Then after the hard work of centuries
I changed you to a statue
And prayed for life in you
I passed through you the rays of love
I gave you insight from my heart
I cut every limb of mine and joined it to you
I transferred my breath in you
And gave you life
In this process I was changed into a sod
Today I am nothing
And you have also gone away
From me, from my end!
