The Chill of Silence

by

Uzma Sadaf

There is a chill of silence,
Which has frozen the minds,
This chill of silence is travelling the whole world,
Staying on one point,
The lap of love has spread so much,
That it has reached the bottoms of the sea,
The inner light has defeated all the darkness,
The journey is lonesome,
The blisters of the feet are my own,
And the eyes are full of sand,
Yet, far away, very far,
What is this crowd,
All the noises coming to ears have died down,
Why the faces have been disfigured,
In the rain of coins,
Why copper, bronze and silver,
Are looking like gold,
Why the living bodies have changed into sods,
Why all colours are tarnished,
Why all the straight lines have curved..
