So Many Thoughts and Dreams

by

Uzma Sadaf

Gods knows how many thoughts and dreams
Are behind the words
Sometimes the thoughts knock at the door
And implore our fingers to write.
O, God bring us out from the cold darkness
And give us some light.
God know how many costly pearls are there
At the bottom on the water
Crying that they must be brought to light
But our eyes cannot judge the realities
Our ears are not accustomed to listen to the truth
Our feet are afraid of searching the new paths
How fond we are of purchasing darkness!
Time is passing, surges of thoughts are calling us
And we turn a deaf ear
And become the embodiment of blankness.
