Even Today the Things are the Same

by

Uzma Sadaf

Even today the things are the same
This is the same old story
The heart is as foolish as it was
It does not try to be sensible
It tries to hide many things
But the eyes know all its secrets
Perhaps that is the reason
That they have returned to the deep sea
Heart is made to wait
It keeps waking
Every time it startles
That some message has come
Some voice is heard
But the time is the same even today
There is the same old story
That you will not come!
