With You

by

Sooraj Vasudevan

I knew

You would come,

Though I didn't have any reasons to be optimistic.

You would smile at me,

Though I don't have any thing left to return.

You would embrace me,

Though I couldn't even raise my hand.

You would kiss me,

Though my lips have turned sour with time.

You would take me with you,

Though I would be dead after the first step.
