Mum's Deity of Hope

by

Solomon Machardson

As far back as she can remember,

I have always been a part of Mum.

At first I was a yearning in her heart

Then a hidden treasure in her womb.

Then a baby clasped in her breasts

And carried on her lap

And enshrined in her mind

As her Deity for Hope and Life
