Mum

by

Sheryl Joy P. Olaņo

I've fought and failed...
Visions of spring have deserted me
The poetry of my life has gone
Murky, garbled and vague
Words failed to flow
In their usual effortless dance
Have become tangled tendrils in
Taunting barren trance
And the pen in my hand...
Once an armor of my soul
Now caged in reluctance...stuck in
A tiny puddle of ink
As tears start to fall
