Little Folks

By

Scott R. Jones

Little folks have a special way
To touch your heart and make your day
Those little eyes that stare at you
Wondering what you're gonna do

The sweetness of that little face
Makes your heart just want to race
So warm and loving they can be
To your heart they hold that golden key

That tiny hand that reaches out
And grips your finger oh so tight
That bond of love is without a doubt
The hand of God reaching out

Crawling here and crawling there
They keep you scared as they pull your hair
Listening to funny noises they make
Including the cries that keep you awake

Skipping rope and playing tag
They're growing up way too fast
Daddy this and momma that
Not real sure if were up to the task

But soon they'll leave and make their way
Oh how we'll miss them I must say
Before you know it they're back again
Saying Mawmaw, Papaw can we come in?
