Don’t Deny Me Memories

by

Sandra S. Corona

It’s over

all but the memories

that I shared with you

wherever we go

let me keep them, do

don’t deny me memories

our unfulfilled dreams

our love is dead and buried

please don’t make a scene

I recall

walking along the beach

stealing sweet kisses

we loved . . . ever so

never your ‘missus’

don’t deny me memories

our unfulfilled dreams

a ring around your finger

we remained unseen

it’s all right

you have your wife; let me dream

you were my life too

wherever I go

let me keep them, do
