Night Sky

by

Ruth Annie Macmain

The street lights glow dimly
The shadows are cast
I look at the night sky
As I lay on the grass

Cars slowly pass me by
But I do not care
The weight on my shoulders
Overpowers my fear

The sky starts to cloud
The droplets they fall
The grass it will grow
But it lingers and stalls

I start to feel dizzy
The sky now glows red
I try to sleep
But I die instead.
