Wings

by

Rusty Broadspear

Patterns of life, colours, symmetrical, frantic and still,

Flying random, then brief shade for a dew drenched bud.

From animated petals, joys and wonder abundantly spill

And embossed memories of lost loved ones flood

Into reality for a moment. Bringing harmony to sunny days,

Carrying comfort and consolation, this delicate passerby.

Extravagant, subtle, telepathic and tantalizing displays.

The playful bewilderment of the wings of a butterfly.
