My Friends Are My Family

by

Nicole Starleigh Yeager

every once in awhile
someone, somewhere on earth
has a revelation
and i have just had mine
and i want you to know
that without all of you
i would not be where i am today
to you i give the credit
of the path of life i follow
to you i owe so much
more than you could ever know
if i could give you the moon
i would
and i would build you a city
as a monument of thanks
and appreciation
i would even put all the sea in a bottle
and hand it to you
but even those things
would never be enough
so remember if you are ever in need
i am here for you
to laugh with you
to cry with you
to smile with you
to shout with you
to pray with you
to fight with you
to be with you
i will keep you in my heart
for as long as i live and longer
and if i never get the chance again
i want to say
i love you, my friends, my family
more than life itself.

"Each friend represents a world in us; a world possibly not born until they
arrive."
~Anais Nin
