Little Bee

By

Nicole Starleigh Yeager

There sits a bee
on a clover flower
rubbing little legs
gathering pollen

Here sits me
barefoot in the shade
watching the little bee
but he doesn't see me

and if he does
what is he thinking?
will he buzz on over
and take a stab at me?

Here he comes, buzz buzz
not too far from the ground
I must smell pretty
yet this bee is polite

he buzzes away
I say "good day to you"
with one quick loop
he lands on a clover flower.
