My Children… My Life...
by
Nicholas Panuzio
As I drove home, dipping into my most prophetic private memories,
I thought of the innocence that has been entrusted to me by fate...
Gentle, ambitious minds to mold...
Based on perceivably flawed experiences...
Yet always proud and grateful for the knowledge I might convey...
Cognizant of the fragile bond that binds us all together...
And fearful of the future that begs for a foretaste...
My children will always be the foremost ingredient of my successful existence
What I could never do for myself, I will do for them...
This is the basis for periodic pillow-grasping dreams.
For they are the most precious part of my pride...
My life, my drive, my legacy... Me.
