One Girl Says

by

Niamh A. O’Sullivan

Only Love is real

Beyond control

Flowing through at it’s own chosen time

Leaving longing

Unearthing agony

Always good

Love is it’s own law

Holding all that’s noble

Pure and just

Within arms of kindness

Strikes like lightening

When hidden from too long

Blinds

When reflected to averted eyes

Only love lasts

Iron rusts

Stone crumbles

Diamond chips

Platinum erodes

Friends and lovers part

The join between their hearts split in pain

Or become two half-joins

Naturally, to join with others

Death can steal a loved one

The breath will cease

The blood still and harden

All functions halt

Life, loss and pain

And love is present in the hush of grief

As in a couple’s joy
