I wonder how the elves felt
When the cobbler set them free
By making tiny shoes
For their tiny feet
What followed the delirium and dancing
Did they go elsewhere
To further serve
Or grow slovenly
And rot in inactivity
What drives us to achieve
What would we do if we now knew
That we are all we should be
That we are perfect as we are
Would our toil cease
Our striving stop
Our purpose falter
How scared are we
Of being free
