Because I Can

by

Mira Minkova

Cardiogramic horizon. The sky
will break into pieces
when a sun steps through the door. He knows:
an eagle would fly!
Even if someone tries to
tear off his wings. She did
what she should: A question.
Screaming silence!
Somewhere far beneath
a sense-killing smile
laughs at all crying beliefs. She did
what she should. Unsaid answers
bring the smell of a new rainy day.
Somebody says:
I'm here
because I want to.
I love you
because I can.
