Capture The Words

Coming into my head
they compel me to
write them down or
type them up
before they are forgotten
lost forever;
they need to be captured.
When words take you
on a journey
you must pack your
bags and follow
or you will be left behind;
volumes of poems
will never be born.
It behooves us as poets
to keep pens and pads of paper
in every room,
in every purse
or briefcase,
in every vehicle,
so the words and phrases
expressing themselves
can be captured.
