HO HO Ho

by

Michael Faircloth

Christmas time is here
Arriving too quickly, I fear
Jingle bells ring in my ear
As I try to get my butt in gear

Loads of cards in my mailbox
Too much dust, so I’m forced to clean a lot
In my house, holiday company will drop
This invasion, only a deep snow will stop

A pretty tree, with lots of lights
Weatherman promises cold nights
With all the family together, it is quite a sight
As I watch the kids fight

No matter what you believe
In spite of everything you see
Don’t forget to feel free
To allow room for your heart to need

Take a good look around you
Remember all the wonderful clues
Things of value that stick to your soul like glue
Giving you joy from your head to your shoes

I have set aside this time
While sipping on beer with lime
To wish for your heart to chime
With love and peace, for a hundred years plus nine
