Unseen Treasure

by

Matt O'Rear

Sitting in the serenity of nature
pondering the cool blue water
enjoying the crisp fresh air
and the sweetly singing birds

Besides the immediate benefits of nature's beauty
there lies so much more
beneath the skin's surface
just waiting to be uncovered

The piney fingers of the evergreen trees
extend upward to touch the blue
and the treacherous mountainside
waits patiently for a challenger

But to the everyday viewer
there lies some water and trees, simply put
what a shame it is to those unappreciative people
for they'll never see the unseen treasure.
