Martin H. Tesler

Though I've since forgiven her
For her innocence of youth

For her pledge of timeless loving,
Which was not a long-lived truth

I cannot do the same for me,
Because I, though long in tooth,
Fell prey to a mid-life fantasy,
And ignored a wiser truth.
