Dance and Believe

by

Marshall Robert Hann

She said to be quiet and smile
be careful and fly
hold my hand and walk
even if the world is ending
(or if someone just thinks it is)

Disconnect the telephone
and don't worry about what you'd say

The storm is coming
you can see it roll in
but dance in the rain
and run through lightning
as if it were the wind carelessly caressing you

She said goodnight and good morning
be quiet and careful
always remember and believe when you awake
even if the world is ending
(or someone just thinks it is)
