Paralleled Life

by

Laura Beth

My life has separated
into two different lives;
each paralleling each other.

It has become unbearable,
yet I must bear it.
It has become intolerable
yet I must tolerate each day.
Every decision is a struggle,
yet I raise myself from the problem.

If one side of me says yes,
the other side (of course) says no.
If one says no,
the other must say yes.

Each day is a ping-pong game.
Back and forth between
"No I Can't" and
"Yes I Can."

Between
"I Simply Refuse To." and
"You Must."
