A Woman
By
Latisha Lyles
SO MANY WORDS APPLY TO ANY MAN THAT RAISES HIS HAND
THAT IS NOT AN OPPOSED BLOW FROM ANY MAN
IT'S AN UNCIVILIZED ACT FROM A PERSON DESCRIBED WITH NO WORDS
HOW HE EVEN BEARS TO LOOK IN THE MIRROR IS ABSURD
A WOMAN MUST REALLY LOVE THIS UNEMOTIONAL PERSON
PUTTING UP WITH ALL THE FIGHTING, HITTING AND CURSING
ALL THE MENTAL, VERBAL AND PHYSICAL ABUSE
SUCH ACTIONS TOWARD ANYONE SHOULD BE WILLING ENOUGH TO LOSE
MAYBE I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS IS CAUSED
MAYBE THAT CONFUSED PERSON'S SECURITY HAS BEEN LOST
HE MUST BALL HIS FIST TO GAIN AND HAVE CONTROL
A WOMAN MUST TELL HIM WHAT HE NEEDS TO BE TOLD
A WOMAN MUST BE CAREFUL BUT BOLD WITH HER LAST GRIEVING SIGH
AND SAY I'M LEAVING YOU FOR ME, MYSELF AND I
