Goodbye

by

Kimberly Hunt

You told me goodbye
despite all my pleading
you chose to hurt me
although I was kneeling

"I love you,"
I say
"But you need more,"
your reply

I know what I need
you don't want to hear
I need you
and I want you so near

I'm dying inside
without you around
I'm pleading with me
to be sane and sound

Never before has death
been appealing
I miss you so much
and I need your healing

I want you to touch me
like you did our last night
Tell me you love me
and then hold me tight

It's you that I need
you don't want to know
it's you that I want
please don't let us go
