Fear
by
Katherine Lynn Charland
Oh fear my jealous friend
You’re a cruel and selfish friend
The irony of the way you pretend to defend me
True you’ve kept me from a mistake or two
The more I get hurt the more I looked to you
Your jealousy is stronger then the grave
You stole my future with the false security you gave
If you were reasonable maybe I could withstand
Your ever-present foreboding hand
You destroy every dream before it comes true
I’m tired of dancing with you
Fear you bring death to my soul
You invalidate trust and make me strive for control
I want to be free to love and to know
The depth of intimacy where fear will never go
Fear I’m tired of dancing with you
You destroy every dream before it comes true
I’m sick of your hurtful lies
Fear goodbye
