Strength

by

Jonathan Isenor

He was taken for granted,
Being an elf he was small,
The humans figured he was just an elf,
He was small so they'd push him around,
They teased him with knowledge of who he really was,

Little did they know the fire burned brighter inside him,
He had a hidden power hidden deep inside of him,
One day as the humans were pushing him around the elf began to emit fire,
His power could no longer be hidden he let out bursts of flames from his mouth,
The humans were frightened by the elf's outburst and backed off,

He had publicly shown his power,
He was panting heavily with the flames still emitting from his body,
Everyone backed off,
The town stood in silence,
Then the elf returned to his normal state,

After that day no one teased him or tried to push him around,
That day everyone learned their lesson.
