Denial

by

Jonathan Isenor

You sit in your chair
Beer in hand
Ready for a good time
Everyday is a good time
Your friends tell you to get help

You refuse
Saying that you have control
But you don't
You can't stop
You need to drink to escape reality

To escape a situation
That drove you to the bottle
Despite the denial
You know that you have to stop drinking and deal with the situation
You can't put life off forever.
