When Will You Be Back?

by

Jolanta Gradowicz

You promised me to come back soon.
Your promises - like the clouds above
Disappeared in the face of the moon.
They were faint just like your love.

Yet, Im waiting for you patiently,
Missing your gentle voice and hand.
Once I thought you loved me dearly,
But now you are lost in a foreign land.

You promised me to send long letters
With assurances that your loves lasting.
I think you should fulfill your pledges -
The sweet words Id be glad and trusting.

Oh! When will you be back at my side?
When will you knock again at my door?
Should I be then aloof or maybe proud?
No, Ill embrace you and say: Hello!
