I Learn to Live Without You

by

Jolanta Gradowicz

Day after day I learn to live without you
And try to understand what happened and why.
The time ended and hours stopped going by.
My heart can't forget and look ahead anew.

Everything is misty, everything is blue.
Now nothing gladdens me under the sky
Though not long ago you were only mine,
Though only yesterday I knew what to do.

I can't go on - my longing keeps me from it -
And can't come back to the past - it's too painful.
I should come to my senses - the world still lasts -

And recall my dreams - they do still exist,
And remind myself of what made me joyful -
My heart didn't die - it still beats and still trusts...
