Deceptive Seduction

by

Johanna Albee

I gaze across a crowded room and see you.
I watch you, the way you move, the way you talk,
the way you smile……
In that instant I feel a deep, hungry, desire
Who is she? I think to myself,
who is this woman?
This beautiful creature who makes my heart ache with a deep quiet longing
A lump grows in my throat, my heart races, my stomach filled with butterflies.
You walk towards me, your voice so smooth so confident, flavored with a subtle arrogance
Your eyes a warm brown, mischevious,
looking at me, through me, into my heart.
I stumble over words, my face feels warm.
Your face so beautiful, so soft.
I want to place my hands on it, to cradle it gently,
to pull you towards me, to taste your lips.
You’ve stolen my heart now.
You walk away as casually and confident as you approached.
But, now you carry with you my heart.
Longing………
Desire………………
Ache…………………….
Sadness……………………….
For a brief moment I kissed your lips, cradled your face in my hands,
felt your body close to mine.
I held you and I didn’t want to let you go……………
You’re gone now……………..
