Is Santa Really Santa?

by

Jessica Sayer

A look at Santa and the coincidental resemblance to the devil.

Who really is Santa Clause? Whom does this man symbolize? Why do millions of children adore him? How does he eat cookies and drink milk at every house and still fit into his sleigh? Why does he have eight reindeer, why and how do they fly? Who is the woman behind the man? Why do his helpers have pointed ears and always smile? Only some of these questions will be answered in this examination of this holiday superstar.

The image of Santa Clause is derived from the poem, "A Visit from St. Nicholas" and was written by Clement C. Moore. In his poem Mr. Moore describes Santa Clause (a.k.a. St. Nicholas ) ". . . his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot . . . ," where does all this ash and soot come from? One theory is that it comes from the chimney he supposedly came down.

Another is that he had just escaped from the underworld. " . . .A bundle of toys he had flung on his back . . . ," his pack filled with toys to reward children for behaving? Or perhaps for misbehaving, because everyone who has had children knows that they never behave themselves. " . . . his droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow . . . ," if anyone has
really watched "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" they would remember that the Grinch smiled in much the same way. I need not say more.

Every child in the world has grown up knowing some version of Santa Clause, whether it was St. Nicholas, Santa, Kris Kringle or another, and every December men dress up in red suits and pretend they are the jolly, fat elf. The red suits may be red because it's easier to wash, or is it because red usually represents evil.

Who named Santa? Maybe his name was just misspelled and it's supposed to be Satan, just move the 'n' to the end and that's what it spells. No way, can it be? Why would it be so obvious? Why would he be called Santa Clause? Does Santa really have claws? Did some
child see Santa and run to his parents yelling Santa has claws, and was mistaken to be saying Santa Clause?

I have little idea where elves come from but I do have a few theories. One of these theories is that they are not elves but little demons from hell-o, working for the big man in charge. Another is that they are slaves, forced to make all of the knock-off toys.

It is said that Santa's reindeer can fly at incredible speeds, and they would have to, to make it to every house in the world during one night.  But how is this done? Why do they fly and not run or teleport to each house? I have no idea why or how these creatures fly, I don't even have a theory. With all my dealings with Santa I have yet to find out.

Why does Santa need the postal service to read and reply to his mail if he does nothing 364 days a year? Does he go back to hell-o for these days and can't get his mail or E-mail?

I cannot answer all questions about this man, if he really is a man, but I can tell you whom he
symbolizes. That is an easy question if you take a few seconds to think about it. He could only be the one big evil dude out there . . . Santa is Satan.

But why? Is Santa the Devil's way to make everyone forget the true meaning of Christmas? I don't know, but if I find out the world will know the truth.
