Old Man Winter

by

Janice Engle

Old man Winters on his way,
I feel his morning breath;
Woke up again so cold today,
Old man Winters on his way.

What happened to the morning Sun,
The flowers blooming outdoor fun?
I woke to see a brand new day,
Old man Winters on his way;

Put up your grill your fishing real,
Get out your Winter wear;
The bitter cold will come to stay,
Old man Winters on his way;

Holidays are moving in,
Warm toes, marshmellows, homeade cooking;
Sit nearby the fireplace,
Old man Winters on his way;

Family gatherings, Yule Tide fun;
Children and snowballs on the run,
Just for a time we can say;
Old man Winters here to stay.
