Life Goes On

by

Jack Mann

Well life goes on
Or so they say
But does it really
Have to be that way

It is said in jest
Or just for fun
But for some of us
Life has just begun

Now that I’m over forty
And sex is not such a big deal
I can get on to the business of living
And those things that are truly real

For life is short
It doesn’t last very long
If you are lucky enough to make it
Without doing any big wrong

Then God has truly smiled on you
And that is needless to say
Because when you get over forty
Most people feel that way

For when you leave this world
It is not how much money you made
But how you are remembered
By others, that make the grade!
