Time

by

Heidi Yang

Time passes with the ticking of the clock,
It tells us when the day starts
Tells us where we want to go
What we must do
But so does our heart,
It was time that told me you were leaving
Time that made you go,
Time told me when you got here that you weren't here to stay
Even when my heart said no,
Time made me realize I had to let you go
Time can be cruel
Or am I mistaking time for life?
Time for change
Time passes as I remember your ghost,
Yet I know I am wrong
You are not a ghost,
It seems I'm searching for something,
Searching for what?
Time has made me realize what my heart has not,
Time has made me realize you are gone.
