Only This Time
by
Gala Ruiz Maldonado

This time I cut I felt the pain
This time it hurt, I cursed in vain
This time I cried my hands full of tears
This time I admitted all my fears
This time I dared to plainly show it
This time it mattered, but they don't know it
This time I itched and picked the scabs
This time I pushed down hard on every stab
This time I processed every thought
This time I knew what I fought
This time I said okay, no more, I'm done!
This time I was wrong 'cause I cut again, it won
This time I tried to stop, I beg I plead
But this time it got to me and I still strive to bleed
