Giving Up

by

Gala Ruiz Maldonado

In need of this black hole that I have fallen into so long ago
Waiting for the ground beneath me to collapse so that I can fall once again
Wanting to break the hand that reaches down to pull me back up
Was tired of gripping this crumbling edge so now i have let it go
No one seems to look at who is breaking down so they tend to pass me by
Trying to find the few people who really understand this dark
The knife is no! longer sharp because my own flesh has made it dull
I doubt it will ever be sharp again
