Freedom

by

Gala Ruiz Maldonado

She wears the ring of freedom
but all freedom has been lost
Smiles, laughter, innocence...
why has it all been tossed?
All memories of childhood
are missing from her head
But now she's just invisible
and wishes she were dead
Confusion and frustration,
it drives them all away
But they don't see her cry
herself to sleep every night and every day
This ring of freedom has been broken...
how come no one can see?
As she lies there in the darkness
screaming "NO ONE REALLY LOVES ME!"
