You Devil

by

Frank Blacharczyk

Devil oh you devil
how you have tripped me fooled me
I have loved the wrong things loved the wrong women
I blame you oh God you sneaky devil for all my failures
and my faults the wrong decisions wrong responses
should I go on have you heard this before
do you take credit with glee I’m glad it’s not me
I blame the devil who is my enemy my friend
when my thoughts turn churn and revenge is my dream
I blame the devil oh God I take no responsibility
The devil says it’s okay to pick my neighbour
to pick my God from any of the TV infomercials
masquerading as a spokesman for God
confused
can I pick a new God each day
do I have to buy something
how much money buys salvation
how many pills do I need to be normal
yet
thinking about myselves my failures
it takes up my day consumes my friends
fogs up my goals but I blame the devil who
kidnaps me ties me up keeps me in the dark
hiding me from the Son
