Angels in the midst of Rage

by

Frank Blacharczyk

Joan and Phil

And I was touched by Angels in the midst of rage
Heroes in my play that always ride to the rescue
Chasing away my unwelcomed guests
Their doors never closed taking in those the world has misjudged
Giving up space and time for others asking for nothing in return
Christ sits at their table talking to the sinner and tax-collector
Mirror mirror who am I
Why do I cry I don’t know why
In spite of my confused self in spite of my anxiety I found peace
In their company they made me laugh until
my tears ran side by side
When failure visits me like an old friend
He is a friend I can do without but he won’t say good-bye
They welcomed me and my friend was pacing and restless
They fed me peace and comfort trouble was disarmed
Love is not a word but a sacrifice when nobody else cares
And I was touched by Angels in the midst of rage
