No Reason

By

Eric Charles

Lying awake with you
Morning creeps into the room
Now I see in a different light
Than I did last night

Searching your face as you still sleep
For the change a rude awakening brings
But you just smile so innocent
How could this be wrong?

We are lonely, hungry people
Waiting for a night
We don't worry where we're going
We just close our eyes

We are cruelly crazy people
And it's justified
It's not something to be figured
Should I try

I'm a man
I dare say you're a woman
Should we meet again like this
Should I feel for you?

Should we forget
Should we regret
Or should we just laugh it off
I can't help but wonder
But to reason would be fool
