I'm Sorry

by

Emma Meade

Out of the boys for whom I've lusted,
You are the only one I've trusted.
With you I felt warm and secure,
Pain was easier to endure.

But then my life took a wrong turn.
I lost all of that trust I'd earned.
Assumptions had lead me to believe,
Horrible things I didn't want to see.

Before I could stop and think twice,
I ripped you right out of my life.
I kept the truth you deserved to know,
Behind your back I decided to go.

And finally when the truth came out,
You realised what it was all about.
Accused me of betraying your trust.
As you walk away, I know you must.

I wonder how it all went wrong.
If it will last and for how long.
Another's here but I miss you still.
And I wonder if you ever will...
