When I am Left Alone
by
Ehsan Elahi Ehsan

When I am all alone, my sweet silent thought,
Is my best companion. It brings me memories,
Of the things past making me to sojourn,
Sometimes into the valley of pure delights,
When I enjoyed your company, the mingling
Of two souls that breathed together.
And sometimes the old woes come to me,
When you and I had the common fear,
Of being separated. Now, when time has,
With its artful conceits succeeded,
To create a gap between you and me,
I need not to complain of such a misery,
To anyone but to my own heart and,
To my own sweet silent thought.
