The Triangle

by

Ehsan Elahi Ehsan

The triangle was broken
You and I were left alone
We chatted and chatted
And complained of the wrong
That was done to us.
We spoke that we were deserted
We said that we did not expect
Our hopes would prove false
So false and so feeble!
Then a day came
When we felt there was nothing
Left for our discussion
You and I kept quiet
We were only staring
Into the eyes of each other
As if saying with the silent looks
That it was never good
To speak ill of that person
Who was absent, yet
Who made us realize
That it was he alone
Who kept us to-gether
And now having nothing
To speak of anything else
We also departed
And went to opposite directions
The triangle was completely broken.
