In Your Absence

by

Ehsan Elahi Ehsan

When you were with me
I thought that all the things
Which were connected to you
Would remain as those were.
But time struck its blow
And you and I were separated
And with your absence
I felt that all my thoughts
All my feelings were vain
All the things turned aside
And I was left all alone
In this crowded world
Except one positive change
That my heart grew fonder
Of you, in your absence.
